Across the country, renters are getting crushed by housing costs.

Business Insider wrote a great article chronicling the grower burden renters across the nation are feeling as housing costs rise.

“While rental costs have steadily risen over the last few years, wages for these working families have not fully recovered from the hit they took between 2008 and 2009. Spending most of your paycheck on rent means cutting back on other necessities, including health care and even food.”

While South Carolina hasn’t been hit the hardest, 21% of working households have a severe housing cost burden.  What states were hit the most?
