About Us

Stacey Boucher and Lara Harpe are the founders and owners of The Pulse Charleston, the premier provider of relocation real estate services for medical professionals in the Charleston area. Stacey and Lara are specialists in working with the 100% financing physician mortgage loan program and have built the largest network of past clients at the Medical University of South Carolina and Roper St. Francis. Their dedication to customer service has earned them the trust of the medical community of the Lowcountry and has led to their rapid rise as market leaders.

Building on their years of experience as agents, Boucher and Harpe established The Pulse Charleston as an independent brokerage in 2015, empowering their agents to offer a wider variety of services, better response time, and more agility within the wider Charleston real estate community. Today, the company offers a diverse menu of marketing solutions to fit every buying and selling situation.

Currently, The Pulse Charleston team is a family of nine Realtors. Helene Stephens joined the company in 2015 with great success,  Jayme Schmicker in 2016, Katie McCabe and Natasha Viswanathan in 2017, Alexandra Moss and Keller McCall Smith in 2023, and Ashley O'Brien is the latest addition in 2024. The new Realtors have provided valuable expertise and diversification among the company’s clientele. With plans to expand further in the future, they are always looking for great talent. In 2015, they effectively debuted a Realtor referral network and rebate program to better serve their clients moving out of the area and to save them money. Now, The Pulse Charleston can oversee real estate transactions in many different areas of the country and provide an extra layer of oversight to make sure transactions continue to go smoothly until closing.

The team at The Pulse Charleston is driven by their extraordinary passion for Charleston. They have handled real estate transactions in virtually every section of the Lowcountry, from historic downtown to the tips of our five barrier islands. The Pulse Charleston has been recognized for their excellence in real estate with the Realtor of Distinction awards, Real Producers awards, and they are always one of the top-producing real estate teams in the Charleston-metro area.

Meet the Team

Stacey Boucher
Broker/Co-Owner/Realtor
Stacey Boucher
Broker/Co-Owner/Realtor
Stacey Boucher may not be a Charleston native, but she has been faking it well for a few years now. She has developed a slight Southern accent, has committed to saying “y’all” instead of “you all”, and she bundles up when the weather dips below 65 degrees. Although many from Charleston have suggested her fellow Ohioans go back home on their bumper stickers, she could not possibly leave now. Stacey’s strength is anticipating the needs of her clients transitioning to and from the area, being thorough and meticulous in her research and preparation, and being calm and confident in negotiations. Promoting The Pulse Charleston and selling Charleston as the best place on Earth gets her up and out of bed in the morning, along with her four young children, Bailey, Lincoln, Charlie and Drew. Occasionally, you might find her attending a Charleston event or new restaurant downtown with her husband, Andrew, or you might even spot her out rooting for her Ohio sports teams (very quietly, of course).

Lara Harpe
Broker/Co-Owner/Realtor
Lara Harpe grew up in the Lowcountry and moved to Charleston after graduating from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. Her love for historic homes and the city itself led to a real estate career, and she has never looked back. Lara's outgoing personality injects fun into the home buying/selling process and serves to alleviate some of the natural stress involved in what is often a major life decision. Her market knowledge is second to none, and she can usually quote from memory the price per square foot for any neighborhood in the tri-county area. Lara considers it her mission to keep Charleston ranked as the #1 “Friendliest City in the US” by Conde Nast, so she always stops to give tourists directions whenever she sees a map being pulled out of a fanny pack downtown. When she's not out showing property, Lara enjoys spending time with her husband, Jonathan, and her two children, Burnham and Lulu.

Alexandra was born and raised on the South Carolina coast. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing, she moved to Charleston in 2010 and began her real estate career. For the past eight and a half years, she has worked in residential new construction sales as a Sales Consultant & Selling Sales Manager for a top three national builder - Pulte Homes. After her son, Walker, was born in February of 2023, Alexandra decided to return to general brokerage real estate, where she is excited to utilize her expertise in new construction and luxury homes to help buyers and sellers in the Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, and surrounding areas. Alexandra resides in Mt. Pleasant with her husband Michael, son Walker, and mini labradoodle Beau. Born and raised in the Carolina Lowcountry, there's nothing Natasha loves more than helping others make Charleston their home. She thrives on unpacking client needs and finding the right solutions for them, a talent she fostered over a career in customer service. Natasha has been a licensed Realtor since graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Emory University's Goizueta Business School in 2010, where she studied organizational management, consulting, and real estate. Before her time at The Pulse Charleston, Natasha worked at some of the world's busiest Apple retail stores in various leadership positions, and most recently as a Sales Consultant in new construction with David Weekley Homes, the largest privately held builder in the US. Natasha's education gives her the technical details needed to be successful as a Realtor, but her vast experience with people from all over the world is what differentiates her. As a Lowcountry native who has traveled the world, Natasha knows the best place on the planet is Charleston, SC. Let her help welcome you home!
Katie McCabe

Katie McCabe
Realtor
Katie got her start in small-town Maryland and found out during a year in Milan, Italy that she’s thoroughly American. Maybe that’s why she cares so much about helping people find just the right spot - here in Charleston. Katie spent 10 years working in the education sector in Maryland until the pull of the Lowcountry became too strong! After vacationing with her family at Kiawah Island each summer, she knew Charleston was the right place to call home. Now, as a member of the Pulse team, Katie works tirelessly for her clients, determined to make their buying experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible. With a husband who has a passion for politics, a daughter with a passion for life and a son with a passion for sports, Katie keeps herself busy as the COO of her family.
Jayme Schmicker
Realtor
Jayme Schmicker
Realtor
Jayme has called Charleston her home for the past nine years. Growing up, her family would frequent antique shops during long road trips, where she learned to appreciate the old and incorporate it into the new. This led to a natural love for the City of Charleston: the preservation of the old city, while adapting to its new residents. After several years of teaching for the Charleston County School District, Jayme decided to follow her passion of real estate. Her dedication to following up on every lead allows her to make an abundance of personal connections, while her effective and frequent communication make her a reliable agent. When Jayme is not dedicated to maintaining Charleston as the World’s Best City (Travel + Leisure 2016), you can find her and her family collecting sharks teeth at the beach or adventuring to one of the numerous day trip destinations our prime location has to offer.
Keller McCall Smith
Realtor
Keller McCall Smith
Realtor
Keller McCall just returned to Charleston from Aspen, Colorado, where she moved following her graduation from the University of South Carolina. She began her career there in marketing for a real estate firm. After familiarizing herself with the business, she knew her passion was working directly with clients to help them find their perfect property. Although she loves the mountains, the magic of the Lowcountry brought her back to her hometown, understanding why so many want to call this special place home. She combines her luxury experience, fun attitude, and love for Charleston's charm when working with clients. Outside of work, Keller McCall is usually trying to enjoy the perfect weather our town offers, whether it be with a stroll on the beach, bike ride through her neighborhood, or riding on the boat. She also loves to try new restaurants, particularly downtown where she currently resides.

See what our clients have to say

"Stacey and Lara were amazing! They were on top of everything from day one, and we couldn't have been happier with them. I loved how organized, thorough, and speedy they were with everything. They answered all of our questions truthfully and quickly, and we always felt like we were in great hands." - Heidi Hamilton
"Lara and Stacey helped me find the perfect home when I moved to Charleston and then sell it 3 years later when I moved away. They made sure I was happy with the contracts each time and were always happy to answer any questions. They made a potentially hectic time an extremely easy process!" - Stephanie Bailey
"The Pulse Charleston team helped us find our dream home and sold our old home in a matter of 36 hours!! Stacey stuck with us through multiple months of searching for the ideal home. She always responded within minutes of emailing questions and many times even after hours. From the start we were never pressured to buy and she always gave us her honest opinion about the house even when we were ready to settle for something sub-par. Her connections to local provides for insurances, estimates for remodels, lot clearings, real estate attorneys, home inspectors, etc. made it easy to see the true cost of the house. The Pulse Charleston negotiated a great price on both the buying and selling end and we could not have done it without her." - George Schmelzer
